2018 Chapter President:
Phoebe Sheftel, Chapter President & Treasurer
Our goal is to further the profession of mediation as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution through (1) educating volunteer and compensated mediators with a broad spectrum of backgrounds (i.e. psychologists, non-attorneys, attorneys, medical professionals, teachers, clergy) by way of setting up intra-group discussions and speakers, and (2) introducing ADR to the general business and neighborhood communities stressing the benefits and obligations associated with mediation. Our group is focused on the Philadelphia, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware areas, and is dedicated to members who in turn, determine the Chapter's direction to provide activities not available elsewhere being mindful not to re-invent the wheel.
Our chapter, as is the entire ACR organization, is very interested in growing its ranks and community ties with the Asian and Indian and African-American and Hispanic communities and other 'minority' groups.
Meetings usually are held at a Center City location Dinner is available, usually at 6:30 p.m. and general meetings start at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
